lyrics

His Earthly Husk

Wrinkled hand held soft in mine
Would that I could smooth the skin
Through which the strength of a dozen once ran
Years weigh heavy upon one's heart
The price we pay for our father's sins

In darkened chamber
The monotony sounds
Of pain and grief resound
In these filthy clean halls abound

The last of us, are first of them
Shrouded in mourner's vigil
The color of hope
Smeared across futility

A final word escaped thy lips
And fell upon deaf ears
Smiling, I ,the ever-fool
Obliviously escaping gravity

Ill-fated winds, they tear apart
That which never was un-whole
A part of self in form of soul
Hails towards celestial sky

Skywards he soars
Towards the heavenly doors
Death reaches down, with bony hand
Healing all pain
In earthly husk emprisoned no more

In heart's chamber locked away
The tears of sorrows past
Grasping them, as falling leaves
For fear of forgotten springs

A door opens to emptiness
A mere trinket of ash remains
Floating words ring in hollow skull
The remnant set in standing stone

Above, below or deep inside
The husk-less shall ever remain
Fortified by his omnipresence
The soul strides forth
Through this realm of thorns
